as some snap shots from the 2014 Glen Ewin Estate Bridal Fair for you to
see. Hope to see you there!
I'm so excited to show this logo rebrand that I designed for the Bay Bridal Fair
a few months ago. Lisa has just launched her new website for the Bay
Bridal Fair and it looks amazing! She originally came to me with the
idea of fashion sketches, watercolours, and glitter. What girl wouldn't
be in their element with a brief like that?! This was a really fun
project and Lisa has been a pleasure to work with! I'm so excited to see
the website released, and if you'd like to find our more then
definitely head across and check it out. The Bay Bridal Fair are one of
Adelaide's largest Wedding Expos, with fashion shows and plenty of music
and entertainment on the day - not mention plenty of exhibits and stall
holders to see which is really handy if you are a bride-to-be and need
help with your wedding planning.
If you are in need of a Logo Design or a Rebrand we'd love to work with you - why not contact us and get in touch? We'd love to discuss your ideas.

This week I thought I'd make a feature of these Stylish Wedding
Invitations. They are from our Classic theme. What exactly is 'classic' I hear you say? To me, something
classic is something that is timeless. It won't go out of style or age
easily. It is simple, elegant and can fit in easily with what is around
it. Deciding to have a classic wedding theme could be one the best
decisions you make!
So here is some info about these gorgeous
invitations which are just are too lovely!
They feature a sophisticated
and elegant design, with simple text and clean lines. The design also
features two fonts; each font has a slightly different feel and balances
the other perfectly. These classic wedding invitations also feature a
timeless colour scheme - soft grey and a lovely gold. These fairly
neutral colours are understated and stylish, and can match any wedding
theme well! However if you would prefer to use different colours, the
theme can be adapted to use any specific colours you would like!
If you
are planning a classic wedding, then we'd recommend checking out 'The Knot' which will provide you with some great tips and ideas!
To find out more about our pricing, please click here, or alternatively you can contact us here.
If you are needing some wedding colour scheme ideas then look no further! How pretty is this colour scheme by Design Seeds?
Titled ‘Hummingbird Hues’ this colour combination has found a
sophisticated way of tying magenta, purple and green together without
going overboard on bright colours. I particularly like how the neutrals
soften everything out. These colours could work with both a stylish and
contemporary look as well as a vintage or rustic wedding.
Hope you enjoy!
Who doesn't love a design based on old love letters and romance?
This collection of floral vintage wedding stationery does just that! Originally
flicking through an old and worn out vintage book, I thought to myself
that the old and beautiful pages were too lovely to leave on the shelf.
Don't get me wrong, I love new designs and the constant trends and
inspiration that surround me everyday! But there is also something so
special about an item that shows its age; the imperfections marking its
use and frequent handling over the years, hand scribbled notes here and
there, and - if you're lucky enough - names and dates. Books like these
not only reveal a story within their written content from page to page,
but also in their imperfections and flaws.
When it comes to
weddings it got me thinking that each couple has their own story too,
and when they choose the details of their wedding they are choosing
something that, in a small way, tells and compliments their personal
story. So I came up with this design 'Love Letters', a set of floral
vintage wedding stationery. It features all the elements we have been
discussing above - the lovely aged paper, romance and sense of story,
with a hand written style font. The modern look to the font contrasts
with the vintage flowers and roses, tying the entirely old fashioned
theme into something a bit more contemporary and up to date. It is
almost a modern day love letter if you like. The warm and rich tones of
the old paper are set within the vibrant pinks, oranges and yellows of
the vintage florals, finishing this design off with some intricate yet
eye catching details. For information on pricing please click here, and alternatively more Sail and Swan designs can be viewed here.
Can you believe it's that time again...to celebrate a new month here
is November's Free Desktop Background for you to enjoy! I have brought
out this lovely pineapple pattern in a colourful and vibrant celebration
for summer! Simply click here to download and enjoy.
Bring on drinks by the pool, warm weather and sunshine, and trips to the beach!
I hope the calendar will help keep you organised and that this lovely design will brighten up your office space too :)
PS
- is anyone enjoying this pineapple trend as much as I am? Everywhere I
look there are pineapples..on cushions, art prints, fabric....loving
it! There is something so appealing about the awkward and spiky shape of
a pineapple, not to mention their gorgeous bright colour.
Hope you enjoy :)
I just wanted to share a fantastic blog that I found this week. I
came across this amazing portfolio by illustration artist Dan Orr of Dan Orr Creative.
Dan learnt how to draw by copying his favourite cartoon characters as a
child, and later went on to study Advertising and Graphic Design at
TAFE SA. He specializes in portraiture but can draw a variety of subject
matters. Some of the media he uses include pencils, pens, markers,
gouache, spray paint as well as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. It’s
not often that I find other illustrators based in Adelaide so I always
get excited when I discover someone new. I’m looking forward to seeing
some of Dan’s future projects.
If you are looking for some more illustration and drawing inspiration then I’d also recommend checking out Behance.
Behance is an online collection of creative works by illustration
artists and photographers. Everyone gets to showcase the best of their
work and there is so much to see. I could spend hours and hours on there
if I let myself.
Back to the studio for me so on that note I will leave you with some inspiring images below of Dan Orr’s work. Hope you enjoy!
I can’t believe it has been a month already! I say this often but
where all my time goes I just don’t know. I’m still working on new
product and designs, but am also so busy with current orders that it’s
happening slowly but surely behind the scenes. Having said that, I’m
excited to show you these Spring wedding invitations – a lovely re-shoot
showing off the beautiful blossoms of this season.
Although these spring wedding invitations will suit a vintage, farm,
outdoor or rustic wedding beautifully, they also have a simple and
classic feel to them which allows them to be versatile with many
different looks and styles. They feature a beautiful calligraphy script
font, with leafy wreaths and borders on the sides. This invitation looks
beautifully balanced alongside these pale and pretty blossoms, but can
also adapt to native Australian flowers.
More photos from this particular set can be found on my website here, and pricing can be found here. Alternatively, feel free to contact me and I can send you an official quote.
I thought I'd share my latest photos with you of these charming
handwritten calligraphy envelopes. They feature my personal
calligraphy style which has a modern twist to it, with a flowy cursive
feel. It has both a relaxed and beautiful feel to it, and suits the Sail
and Swan Wedding Stationery range perfectly! These charming handwritten
calligraphy envelopes will add a beautiful touch to your wedding day
and surprise your guests upon their arrival in the mail.
So how
does it work? If you already have your own wedding invitations but would
like Sail and Swan to hand write your envelopes then you can simply contact us
and arrange to send your envelopes via post. Please note that extra
envelopes may be needed in case of any mistakes – it can happen to the
best of us! An extra 10-15 envelopes is preferable, and Sail and Swan
will return the leftover envelopes with your finished order.
If you have
already ordered your wedding stationery through Sail and Swan, then
your envelopes come included with your order. All you simply need to do
is request handwritten envelopes with your order.
If you would like to inquire about placing an order please contact me here. Pricing for Handwritten Envelopes can viewed in the Sail and Swan Price List.
I just wanted to share some more photos of my Rustic Romance
Invitations with you. These hand drawn wedding invitations are a new
collection of mine that I introduced to my range recently and I now have
them up on my website here.
They
feature some lovely subtle vintage touches with the old style 'stamp'
font as well as a lovely font that looks like a calligraphy script. I
call the stamp font my story book font as it reminds me of old vintage
books (I can just imagine the faded page behind the writing). The
calligraphy font has a rustic feel to it as well and compliments my
floral illustrations perfectly. My illustrations feature lots of
different flowers, with the berries, yellow billy buttons and lush
carnations being my favourites. There are also leaves and petals dancing
around each illustration. On the other side of the invitations is a
lovely watercolour wash with bold and vibrant colours. It features a
warm purple that fades into mulberry pink which in turn fades into a
sunset orange.
These invitations have been designed by me and the flowers are my original illustrations.
The entire set includes:
- Double Sided Wedding Invitation (A5)
- Save the Dates (A6)
- Double Sided RSVP cards (A7)
- Double Sided Table Numbers (A6)
- Menus
- Name Place Cards
I hope you enjoy these lovely hand drawn wedding invitations. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding this set or if you would like to place an order.
