I just wanted to share some more photos of my Rustic Romance
Invitations with you. These hand drawn wedding invitations are a new
collection of mine that I introduced to my range recently and I now have
them up on my website here.
They
feature some lovely subtle vintage touches with the old style 'stamp'
font as well as a lovely font that looks like a calligraphy script. I
call the stamp font my story book font as it reminds me of old vintage
books (I can just imagine the faded page behind the writing). The
calligraphy font has a rustic feel to it as well and compliments my
floral illustrations perfectly. My illustrations feature lots of
different flowers, with the berries, yellow billy buttons and lush
carnations being my favourites. There are also leaves and petals dancing
around each illustration. On the other side of the invitations is a
lovely watercolour wash with bold and vibrant colours. It features a
warm purple that fades into mulberry pink which in turn fades into a
sunset orange.
These invitations have been designed by me and the flowers are my original illustrations.
The entire set includes:
- Double Sided Wedding Invitation (A5)
- Save the Dates (A6)

This weekend Sail and Swan were part of the Bay Bridal Fair -
our first time! For those of who you aren't familiar with us, Sail and
Swan is an Adelaide Wedding Stationery business, servicing all parts of
Australia. We also offer services such as handwritten calligraphy envelopes, custom wedding chalkboards and wooden invitations.
We had a great time at the Bay Bridal Fair - it was a busy and bustling
day with lots of friendly faces. Live music, bridal fashion shows,
dancing, food and drinks were all part of the fun, not to mention the
wonderful selection of wedding products and services that were
exhibiting on the day.
Below are some snap shots from the day which I hope you enjoy.
The gorgeous flowers in the photos are by Bella in Bloom and if you would like to see the full range of Sail and Swan's Wedding Stationery you can click here.
Feeling a bit over the cold winter weather? I'm super excited to show
you the result of a recent Winter Wedding collaboration shoot, in which
I was lucky enough to feature my new bright and rustic wedding invitations!
These
wedding invitations feature rustic fonts such as this loose
calligraphy font as well as the old style 'stamp' font which is
beautiful to see up close. I illustrated the lovely wreath of flowers
which explode in a warm mixture of rich and vibrant colours! My design
features yellow billy buttons, soft and flowing petals, dramatic flowers
and beautiful leaves. All of this has been placed onto a lovely white
textured card which balances the colours perfectly and adds contrast to
the design. The backing of the invitations (as well as the front of the
RSVP cards) feature a bright wash of watercolours - bold purples, pinks
and oranges jump off the page and make for a great statement! For more
information on this Design Set or my other Wedding Stationery, click here.
And in case you're wondering..Lucinda May Photography took these beautiful photos and her floral stylist sister-in-law Amy from Bella In Bloom
created the dramatic arrangements of flowers. Just because Winter is
cold doesn't mean you need to have a cool colour scheme! We went for a
mixture of warm, vibrant and bold colours, which stood out and made a
statement. We felt inspired to stick with a rustic theme and this forest
in the Adelaide Hills was the perfect backdrop! In keeping with the
rustic theme, Sweet Bea’s made this gorgeous 'naked' or open layer cake. We were also lucky to have Rene from The Vintage Bride Boutique on board
- her dresses suited the shoot so well. The dress that we featured was a
1950′s original vintage dress which even had a couple of pieces of
confetti from the original wedding in it - how beautiful and original!
And finally, the make up was done by Make Up to Shake Up and the hair was styled by Hair to Envy Body and Beauty, bringing the whole shoot together and tying things up beautifully.
Hope you enjoy!
