I just wanted to share a fantastic blog that I found this week. I came across this amazing portfolio by illustration artist Dan Orr of Dan Orr Creative. Dan learnt how to draw by copying his favourite cartoon characters as a child, and later went on to study Advertising and Graphic Design at TAFE SA. He specializes in portraiture but can draw a variety of subject matters. Some of the media he uses include pencils, pens, markers, gouache, spray paint as well as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. It’s not often that I find other illustrators based in Adelaide so I always get excited when I discover someone new. I’m looking forward to seeing some of Dan’s future projects.

If you are looking for some more illustration and drawing inspiration then I’d also recommend checking out Behance. Behance is an online collection of creative works by illustration artists and photographers. Everyone gets to showcase the best of their work and there is so much to see. I could spend hours and hours on there if I let myself.

Bridgette Hall is a freelance illustrator from Boise, ID. Some of you may recognize Bridgette’s work from her online shop, Confetti Love on Etsy. She is inspired by traveling, the world and finding new places. Her illustrations of cityscapes are both beautiful and inspiring and I was lucky enough to ask her a few questions! Here is some recent work that I've put together for Polly from the Pipsqueaks Market. Polly is great to work with as she has SOO many creative ideas and makes my job so much fun because of it. She loves busy and colourful designs, and you may recognise the Chipmunk Family below from some previous work I did for her. This month's market is a Mexican Spring Fiesta theme!!

How wonderful is this Giclee print titled Bird Housing Project by Bert van Wijk! Bert's story is an interesting one, make sure to have a read of it here. He's been drawing since primary school and later went on to study illustration at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. Such lovely work!
